What’s the wattage of the FLUX HEXA laser tube?
FLUX HEXA is equipped with a 60W CO₂ laser tube operating at 10,640 nm.
What materials can FLUX HEXA cut and engrave?
FLUX HEXA can cut and engrave wood, leather, cardboard, acrylic, rubber, food items, and more. It can also engrave anodised aluminium and stainless steel using FLUX’s specialised coating. It cannot cut metal.
Can FLUX HEXA cut thicker than the stated 10mm limit?
Yes. The 10mm spec refers to a single pass at average speed. By slowing the speed or making multiple passes, FLUX HEXA can cut deeper—such as cutting acrylic over 10mm thick.
Can FLUX HEXA cut metal?
FLUX HEXA cannot cut metal, but it can engrave on anodised aluminium and stainless steel using FLUX Stainless Steel Coating.
What is FLUX Stainless Steel Coating for FLUX HEXA?
To engrave stainless steel with FLUX HEXA, you’ll need to first apply FLUX’s specialised coating to the surface. This creates durable, high-contrast results on metals that FLUX HEXA cannot normally mark.
Does the camera on the FLUX HEXA cover the whole work area?
Almost. The FLUX HEXA camera misses about 1cm at the top edge. For full dimensions, refer to the specifications.
How do I vent the FLUX HEXA?
FLUX HEXA comes with an air pump and powerful exhaust system. The air pump helps prevent material fires, while the exhaust removes smoke and fumes through the included hose.
Where should I put my FLUX HEXA?
Place your FLUX HEXA in a well-ventilated area. Use the supplied exhaust hose to safely vent smoke and fumes outdoors during use.
What safety features does FLUX HEXA include?
FLUX HEXA has smart lid detection and an emergency power switch. Despite these features, it’s strongly recommended not to leave FLUX HEXA unattended while operating.
What maintenance is required for FLUX HEXA?
Clean the lenses and mirrors weekly (depending on use), lubricate the rails, and regularly check the cooling tank water level to ensure optimal performance.
Are there consumables for FLUX HEXA?
Yes. The FLUX HEXA laser tube generally lasts 1–2 years. Lenses and mirrors can last a year or more with regular maintenance. You can replace parts yourself using included tutorials.
